Wales' new home football kit has been met with harsh criticism from fans, with some describing it as "the worst we've ever had."
New kit revealed
The 2026-28 kit, worn by both men's and women's national teams, was unveiled by the Football Association of Wales on Thursday. It marks the first shirt produced by new technical partner SUDU, following the end of Wales' partnership with Adidas, which had supplied kits since 2013.
The shirt features a tonal geometric jacquard pattern said to be inspired by traditional Welsh tapestry. SUDU, which opted against a template design, created the kit over a year-long design process. It will be worn with red shorts and socks.

FAW chief executive Noel Mooney said the shirt "tells a genuine Welsh story" and is "one that supporters can wear with pride."
Fan backlash on social media
However, fans have taken to social media to express their disappointment. One wrote: "It looks awful. The design looks AI-generated." Another said: "Lost for words. Absolutely abysmal."
Criticism intensified as some branded it the worst Wales kit in history. One supporter wrote: "Horrendous. Probably the worst kit we’ve ever had." Another added: "Worst we've ever had. The type of shirt you find in Lidl or Aldi."
Some fans defend the design
Despite the backlash, some fans offered more favorable views. One wrote: "I think it’s great. Original kit, not an Adidas template. It was an impossible job, people were always going to moan."
Another commented: "It's alright. There seems to be an over the top hysteria from a lot of people." A third added: "I actually like it," while another said: "Stick an Adidas badge on that and no one’s complaining, guarantee it."
