A furious Manchester City fan says he will "hand his season tickets back" to the club after failing to secure tickets to watch Oasis at the Blues' home ground next year. Fan Robert Reed, who has held a City season ticket for 30 years, says it's "beyond a joke" that Blues fans were not given their own priority access to the Oasis ticket sale at the weekend.
Oasis Live '27 ticket ballot
Reunited Gallagher brothers Liam and Noel delighted Oasis fans across the world when they announced they are to return to touring with Oasis Live '27 - after their triumphant comeback in 2025. The new tour includes 11 huge homecoming shows at the Etihad Stadium, home of the Gallaghers' beloved Manchester City, across June 2027.
But, in an unprecedented move, Oasis announced that fans would only be able to access tickets for the new tour by registering with their official website and completing a series of questions before then being entered into a ballot for a code. Only those who were emailed codes could then get access to a series of timed sales slots across Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
It was announced on Monday that ALL tickets have now been sold for all gigs of Oasis Live '27 over the weekend. It has left the thousands of fans who missed out on the codes, and thus the chance to even buy tickets, expressing sadness, anger and frustration at the situation.
Season ticket holder's frustration
Man City season ticket holder Mr Reed contacted the MEN to express his anger about the situation after failing to secure Oasis tickets for him and his "gutted" 14-year-old daughter. He says it's "beyond a joke" that loyal Man City fans were not given a priority window for booking, as has previously happened for big gigs at the Etihad Stadium.
He said that he's been able to secure tickets previously through the venue pre-sales for big gigs at the Etihad Stadium including Take That's Circus Live shows this summer, and for Coldplay in 2023.
Mr Reed said: "I registered for a code for the Oasis sale through all the proper channels and unfortunately didn't receive one so now I’m stuck with my 14 year old daughter gutted.
"My point is I'm a City season ticket holder of 30 years and my daughter has had one for 9 years, and I could get a priority window for Take That this year and Coldplay in 2023 but there was no option for Oasis.
"It’s beyond a joke and I have spoken to supporter services earlier today and they made me feel like my loyalty means nothing so I will be ringing them back tomorrow and giving both mine and my daughter's season tickets back and they will not be getting another carrot off me."
In further frustration, Mr Reed said he's been unable to cancel his season tickets since he first contacted the MEN on Monday, because no one had called him back from the club. He added: "Premier League on the pitch, non-league off it."
Fans left gutted
Social media sites are now full of tales of woe from Oasis fans - including many who DID get codes, but for numerous reasons once inside the sale were still not able to get tickets. Taking to X, Hoddy wrote: "No joy for Oasis, had tickets in my basket 3 times but timed out every time going to checkout. Gutted."
Colin Curryer wrote: "Got a code. Get to the front multiple times only to be kicked out. Finally get on, nothing left. Fuming." Callum Stone said: "Another year of no Oasis tickets. I’m gutted and raging. You click the tickets to buy, then it loads only to say they’re not available to buy. Why let me click them? Another shambles. Fuming. Felt like that was the last chance to see them in my lifetime."
Unfortunately for fans without tickets, Oasis say there will be no further sales for this tour. Liam Gallagher himself jokingly posted online: "That’s all folks we have officially sold out no more tickets left congratulations to everyone who got a ticket and to the people who didn’t sneak in **** it yolo LG x."
Hope for resale tickets
However, there is still some hope of getting tickets closer to the time of the shows for those who missed out. If fans are prepared to hold their nerves until then, that is.
Ticketmaster has said it will be listing a number of resale tickets on its site in the coming months. Ahead of the sale, the platform claimed fans would be able to get tickets via its site, and on Twickets in the UK, and they could only be sold at face value.
Ticketmaster has not yet said when resale tickets will be made available on its site, but said that 'ticket transfer and resale will be available by December 31st, 2026'. Ticketmaster has been approached by the Manchester Evening News for more information on this.
Fans will also be able to try and buy a number of production tickets, which might be released closer to the date of each show. These tickets are usually held back until production requirements are finalised, but the allocation usually tends to be limited and will vary per venue.
