After being wrongly accused of murder and spending time behind bars, Summer Spellman's (Harriet Bibby) life seemed to be turning around when she caught the eye of Marco Rhodes (William Teasdale).
Following a terrifying call about a car crash Marco was involved in, Summer races to the hospital. But when she's faced with what PC Jess Heywood (Donnaleigh Bailey) has to say, her jaw hits the floor.
On Monday, October 5, Summer is panicked as she tears into the hospital looking for Marco, where she's taken to one side by Jess. Though her nerves are settled by Jess's assertions that Marco is physically fine, she's alarmed by the questions Jess is firing at her and demands to know what she's getting at.
When Jess reveals that Marco was acting as a getaway driver when he totalled the car, Summer is flummoxed – just who is Marco?
Jodie makes her move on David
Over at the Platts', it looks as if all of Jodie Ramsey's (Olivia Frances-Brown) dreams are coming true, and she's ready to supplant her sister, Shona Platt (Julia Goulding), at the heart of the household.
On Thursday, October 8, with everything she's wanted since emerging in Coronation Street seemingly within her reach, Jodie's overjoyed. With David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) and Shona's relationship seemingly in tatters, Jodie's like a shark that smells blood. With victory within her grasp, she spells it out to David: she wants him, and she cares nothing for Shona after she abandoned her when they were little.

Kit faces his chemotherapy plan
Meanwhile, at the hospital, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) is given the details about his treatment plan, though he's clearly distracted by the toll that his illness will have on his work life.
On Friday, October 9, Kit's deeply distracted as a nurse fills him in on the plan for his chemotherapy treatment. Determined to carry on as normal, Kit is distracted by his ringing phone, as the nurse tells him that the treatment will likely leave him feeling unwell – something he tries to bat away, wanting to remain in work.
As his phone continues to ring, the nurse gently suggests that Kit should tell work what he's about to go through, but will he?
