Irvine Welsh, speaking on BBC Radio 4's Today programme, acknowledged the financial challenges: 'We knew it would be difficult to take a production of that scale on the road. We've got 30 cast members. Basically people just don't have the money.' He noted the show will continue in the West End until September, but its future beyond that is uncertain.
