Touker Suleyman has reassured fans he is "not giving up yet" after announcing his exit from BBC's Dragons Den. The retail and manufacturing mogul, who joined the show in 2015, revealed earlier this year he would be stepping down after more than a decade in the den.
Birthday announcement
Celebrating his 73rd birthday on Instagram, Suleyman posted a photo from the Den and teased his next move. He wrote: "Today I am fortunate to celebrate my 73rd Birthday. I am grateful for every day I spend working hard, in my various businesses and helping others."
He added: "In the next 4 weeks I will announce a new project I have been working on for a year, which I am very excited about. So if you think I should be retiring, it’s quite the opposite."
Final episodes
Suleyman confirmed his last appearance will air on BBC2 shortly, saying: "Yes I have retired from Dragons Den , my last appearance will be on BBC2 shortly, but I had 10 great years on the show. Time to let younger Dragons on the show."
At the time of his exit announcement, he reflected: "It has been an immense privilege to sit in that chair, to meet so many passionate and talented entrepreneurs, and to invest in businesses and people I truly believed in."
Recent series
The latest series featured guest Dragons including Tinie Tempah, Jenna Meek, and Susie Ma. Gary Neville, another guest, said: "I couldn’t love the programme more. Everyone in front of the camera and behind it made me feel so welcome. Walking out of the tunnel at Old Trafford as a Manchester United player was a thrilling feeling and this was an experience that came close to that feeling."
