Segedunum Roman fort in Wallsend is marking its 1900th birthday this weekend with a fun-filled day of Roman-themed activities. Visitors can meet Emperor Hadrian, hear tales from across the Roman Empire, and take part in hands-on experiences such as archery, Roman games, weapons training, and meeting Roman horses.
Family Activities and Children's Picnic
The Friends of Segedunum helped younger visitors celebrate with a children's picnic, where youngsters could build their own mini Hadrian's Wall using soft rubber bricks. The event continues on Sunday, offering another day of Roman fun.
Admission and Ticket Prices
The event is free with admission to the museum. Entry is free for children and young people aged 21 and under, as well as NE28 residents. For others, adult tickets cost £7.75, while concession tickets are £5.50. Both fees include a £1 voluntary donation.
