Prince Harry's Final UK Engagement
Prince Harry concluded his last day of engagements in the United Kingdom with a lively appearance at the Scotty's Little Soldiers summer festival, held at Maxstoke Castle in Warwickshire. The event, which took place on Saturday, July 11, 2026, saw the Duke of Sussex participate in goat yoga and water bomb fights alongside approximately 200 children and family members.
Goat Yoga Session
During the morning, Harry joined a goat yoga session led by an instructor named Rosie. The session involved six nanny goats and their four-month-old kids. Participants were encouraged to “feel the freedom and presence” of the animals and to “channel the spirit” of goats by mimicking their bleats and maintaining eye contact. Rosie urged the group: “Feel that goat in you. Embody the balance of goats.” Instead of traditional downward dogs, the class featured “downward goats.”
Harry eagerly approached the pen, shouting, “Let me in!” He inquired about safety, asking, “Is there health and safety? Do they bite?” After being assured that the goats “just love love,” he took his place on a blue yoga mat. He performed a variation of the tree pose, standing on one leg while forming goat ears with his hands. He successfully stared down a goat for an extended period, nearly touching noses. However, when he lay on his back, the goats began trampling him, prompting a joke about his security team failing to protect the Crown Jewels as one goat stepped on his crotch. Harry yelled, “Ow,” covered the area with his hands, and said to the goat, “What are you doing?” to laughter from the crowd.
Water Bombs and Obstacle Course
After feeding the goats and posing for photographs, Harry raced three-year-old River to an inflatable obstacle course, where he was pelted with water bombs. River targeted Harry repeatedly, striking him with multiple balloons. Harry responded, “You’re naughty!”
Q&A Session
In a question-and-answer session, Harry shared personal insights. He revealed that he marks his late mother’s key anniversaries with a lemon drizzle cake, that his favorite country is Botswana, and that he copes with bad days through a cold sea swim or a walk with his dog. Nine-year-old Poppy, whose father Able Seaman Daniel Turnbull died of leukemia in July 2020, asked what makes him laugh after a difficult day. Harry patted his heart, saying, “That got me right there.” He added: “You know what, sometimes it’s just a difficult day. It’s not always possible to laugh. But my dog makes me laugh, my children make me laugh and if I need to laugh I’ll probably put something really funny on the television. But, and this goes for all of you, there are some days when you’d like to laugh but it might not always be possible to laugh. But you’ve got brothers and sisters, friends, this community… but yes I think the point is that a laugh at the end of a hard day is the best medicine served.”
Support for Scotty's Little Soldiers
Harry has been a dedicated supporter of Scotty’s Little Soldiers, a UK-based charity that supports bereaved military children and young people, for many years. His visit came less than 24 hours after he achieved a family reunion with King Charles III.
