Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger Hints at Glastonbury Comeback for 2027
Mick Jagger Hints Rolling Stones Glastonbury Return

Sir Mick Jagger has hinted that the Rolling Stones could return to Glastonbury's Pyramid Stage in 2027, 13 years after their celebrated headline performance. The 82-year-old rock legend, promoting the band's new album Foreign Tongues, told NME that despite finding the stage setup challenging, he would say yes to another appearance.

Jagger's Candid Thoughts on the Pyramid Stage

Jagger described the Glastonbury stage as 'very odd' and 'disjointed', noting that the band normally uses a 50-foot walkway but had only 10 feet at the festival. 'You're so far away from everyone,' he said. However, he acknowledged the atmosphere: 'It is great when you look up the hill and you see everyone, it's fantastic.'

Despite the less-than-ideal conditions, he conceded: 'Do I wanna do it again? Oh, I'll say yes.' Jagger recalled fond memories of enjoying the festival before the 2013 headline gig, saying: 'I'm so glad I did it, I loved doing it. It was a great event, all my family and all my kids always go to Glastonbury.'

Tour Plans and Band Dynamics

Jagger admitted that no shows are likely this year but expressed hope for a tour in 2027. He explained that Keith Richards 'couldn't commit, and he wasn't feeling so great about touring.' The band last toured in 2024, with a reported 2025 tour scrapped due to logistical issues.

Legacy of the 2013 Headline Set

If the Rolling Stones return, they would have a high bar to meet after their 2013 performance, which was four decades in the making. The two-and-a-half-hour set included classics like Jumping Jack Flash, Gimme Shelter, and Sympathy for the Devil, and was widely praised as flawless.

Other Potential Headliners

Glastonbury is in a fallow year in 2026, returning in 2027. Among other rumored headliners is Shakira, who last performed at the festival in 2010. She recently told The Sun: 'It's such an iconic place to perform. I'd love to go back to England and perform at Glastonbury.'
