Ticketholders for the Michael Palin in the Philippines tour in Warrington have received an email confirming the event will be rescheduled due to “unforeseen circumstances”. The actor and writer was scheduled to appear at Pyramid and Parr Hall on Tuesday, October 13.
Postponement announced to ticketholders
A ticketholder shared an email they received regarding the cancellation with the ECHO this evening. It said: “We are emailing you regarding your booking for Michael Palin in the Philippines which was due to take place on Tuesday, at Parr Hall. We're sorry to announce that the show has been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.”
Sir Michael's representatives also provided a statement for the organisers to share. The statement said: “It is with regret, due to unforeseen circumstances that the UK tour of Michael Palin in the Philippines is being postponed.”
Apology and next steps for fans
The statement continued: “We realise how disappointing this is for ticket holders, especially at short notice, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. We will be working with the promoter to arrange a new date as soon as possible. All tickets will remain valid and will automatically be transferred to the new date once this is confirmed. Refunds will also be available upon request via Box Office if you are unable to attend on a certain date.”
Ticketholders will be contacted by their original point of purchase with further details and rescheduled dates as soon as they are available. Sir Michael apologised to everyone who bought tickets and thanked them for their understanding, adding that he “can't wait to see you on the re-scheduled date”.
Fans await rescheduled date
Fans had been anticipating the Monty Python star's return to the stage to share the story of one of his most ambitious journeys yet, one that went beyond the television cameras to reveal what really happened as he travelled across the Philippines. On previous tour dates, Sir Michael had reflected on the people he met and the moments that stayed with him long after the cameras stopped rolling. Fans have been treated to memories from a lifetime in television, looking back at the journeys, programmes and unexpected experiences that have defined his career.
