Madonna has earned her highest-charting single in 17 years with her duet with Kylie Minogue, Love Sensation, which debuted at number eight on the official UK singles chart.
Chart Success and Milestones
The track, released on August 6, is the second single from Madonna's new album, Confessions II. It marks her highest chart position since 2009 and her 65th top 10 single, extending her record as the female artist with the most top 10 singles in chart history. Only Cliff Richard (68) and Elvis Presley (76) have more.
The song did not dislodge Sam Fender and Olivia Dean from the top spot, as Rein Me In claimed its 21st week at number one.
Album and Promotions
Madonna's album Confessions II, released last month, topped charts worldwide, including the UK, US, and Australia. She celebrated on Instagram, writing: "Words cannot express how Grateful and Surprised I am by the incredible reception Confessions on a Dance Floor has received !!"
Earlier this year, she shut down Times Square in New York for a promotional show. In July, she teamed up with Grindr for a London listening party at Magazine, attended by Kate Moss, Ashley Roberts, Daisy Edgar Jones, and Jaime Winstone.
World Pride Appearance
Days ago, Madonna appeared at World Pride in Amsterdam, where she was joined on stage by Kylie. Introducing her, she said: "Ladies and gentlemen, the beautiful Kylie Minogue....the lady in purple is here." She added: "I'm so happy to be here with you Kylie, thank you, I love you."
