Love Island's Konnor Ewudzi: Iconic Hairstyle Led to Hair Transplant

Love Island star Konnor Ewudzi has revealed that his iconic hairstyle from the villa led to him needing a hair transplant. The reality TV personality, who appeared on series 11 and the third series of All Stars, said the tight top-knot dreadlocks he wore during his first stint on the show caused tension that damaged his hairline.

Hairstyle Caused Hair Loss

Speaking about his decision to undergo the procedure, Konnor explained: “I think it was the wearing it up that put tension in the front and pulled on it quite a bit, and that’s where I have noticed my hairline dissolving.” The barber, who has professional knowledge of hair, admitted he was “a bit nervous” before the surgery but praised the team at the British Hair Clinic in Essex, calling them “amazing” and the “best in the game” for making him feel “so comfortable.”

Dr Zabeeh, who performed the transplant, noted that traction alopecia—hair loss caused by pulling on the hair—is common among those who regularly wear tight hairstyles.

Open About the Procedure

Konnor said he was “not embarrassed” about getting the transplant, comparing it to women having Botox, breast enhancements, and hair extensions. He argued that such procedures shouldn’t be as “taboo” as they are. He shared pictures of his thinning hair and had his head shaved for the hair plugs.

Love Island Journey

During his first series, Konnor entered as a bombshell and coupled up with Grace Jackson after her split from Joey Essex. He later ended the show with Lolly Hart, but the pair were dumped after losing a public vote. Fans had complained about his lack of screen time, with one writing: “Can. We. See. More. Of. Konnor. Please. And. Thank. You.” Another said: “Another night where they pretend Konnor doesn't exist? Does he even participate in the show?”

On All Stars, he initially coupled up with Millie Court, then Whitney Adebayo, and later with Imani Wheeler. He and Wheeler were dumped after receiving the fewest votes for favourite couple.
