Former Newcastle United defender John Anderson made a surprise visit to Uno's Trattoria in Newcastle on Sunday, delighting staff and adding his name to the restaurant's wall of fame.
A Beloved Geordie Institution
Uno's has been a staple of the city's dining scene for decades, known for attracting footballers and celebrities. In the mid-to-late 90s, it was a favorite haunt for Newcastle players like Rob Lee, Les Ferdinand, Darren Peacock, Keith Gillespie, and Peter Beardsley, who were documented to have enjoyed lively nights there.
This year, the restaurant has already welcomed Peter Andre and Doctor Who actor Christopher Ecclestone, both of whom visited after performing at nearby venues.
Anderson's Return
Anderson, who played for Newcastle from 1982 to 1992, making 337 appearances and scoring 14 goals, was a fan favorite during his decade at the club. His visit comes 34 years after his departure from St James' Park.
Sharing the news on Facebook, Uno's wrote: "Yesterday we had the pleasure of welcoming former Newcastle United legend and Republic of Ireland international John Anderson to Uno’s.
