Engagement to Van Hunt
The actress, who has been married three times before, confirmed earlier this year that she and Van had got engaged after six years of dating, after branding him the love of her life.
Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, she said: "Well, there's some confusion that he asked to marry me, and I said no. No, that's not the case. I did not say no. We just don't have a date."
She went on to add: "But of course I said I would marry him! He did put a little ring on it," before giving the cameras a look at the huge diamond sitting on her finger. The huge rock is made up of a square-shaped diamond, sitting on a gold band.
Previous comments on marriage
The Die Another Day actress appeared to be referencing a previous interview where she said that Van, 55, had proposed last summer, but she "hadn't said yes"; however, she said she would make exceptions for "health reasons" due to the access that comes with being married.
She said: "I don't think we need to be married to have a meaningful relationship. I don't know if we will ever get married." Meanwhile, Van said on the Today show over the summer: "I put out the proposal, and it's still on hold as you can see. It's just out there floating. You know, maybe you can encourage her."
Halle added: "Well, I've been married three times. Van has been married once, and so no, we don't feel like we have to get married to validate our love in any way. We don't, I think we will get married just because, out of the people I've been married to, this is the person I should have married."
