Glastonbury Festival 2027 headliners have already been secured, co-organiser Emily Eavis has confirmed, but Madonna will not be among them.
Speaking on BBC Radio 4's PM programme on Friday, Eavis dismissed speculation that the American singer would headline the festival, which runs from Wednesday, June 23, to Sunday, June 27, 2027.
Headliners confirmed a year early
“No, it’s definitely not Madonna, I’ll tell you that,” she said. “But we have got three headliners and we’re very excited about it – it’s all coming together really well.”
She also rejected the idea that Taylor Swift could headline, and refused to discuss performers further. “Pretty much 95 per cent of the stories [about Glastonbury] you read are not true, and rumours are pretty much always wrong,” she said.
Fallow year and festival history
The 2027 event will be the festival's 40th, despite the first Glastonbury taking place in 1970. The festival has had fallow years and cancellations, including during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021.
There was no festival in 2026, as the grounds were given a rest. The 2025 event featured headliners Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo.

The festival generates £168 million in economic impact for UK businesses, and the BBC holds exclusive multimedia broadcast rights, bringing performances to tens of millions of additional fans.
