Georgia Toffolo has unveiled her latest outfit for the fourth day of Royal Ascot, describing it as “obscene” as she showed off a floor-length vintage dress from the 1930s. The Made in Chelsea star, 31, has been getting glammed up for the annual races all week, adhering to strict fashion guidelines after Lizzie Cundy was turned away for her cream midi-dress.
Vintage Elegance
In a new Instagram video, Toffolo displayed a floral design dress made of “cloth of gold,” paired with an embellished gold hat and a beaded red bag. “Obscene outfit reveal,” she began the clip, telling fans: “It’s an incredibly special dress. I had to bring it outside and show you on the balcony. It is beyond.” She explained that the material became popular in the 1920s and 1930s and is considered one of the most magnificent fabrics ever created. “You know what I’m like, I always want an obscene, ‘Oh, my God, did she actually choose that thing?’ moment - and that is the hat. The more I shake, the more it jingles and jangles, but I think it’s really special,” she added.
Fan Reactions
Toffolo revealed she dyed her hair darker to complement her outfits this week but admitted she was running late and would take the tube and train to the event. She asked fans for their opinions, saying, “Tell me, do you love my outfit, tell me if you hate it. I don’t mind the haters. I think it’s absolutely stunning.” Followers praised her choices, with comments like “This is my favourite look you’ve ever done” and “Stunning dress - this is my fave of the week.”
Lizzie Cundy’s Call for Change
Toffolo’s fashion reveal comes after Lizzie Cundy, 58, was turned away from Royal Ascot earlier this week for wearing a dress with cut-outs and a large fascinator. After initially apologizing, Cundy has called for organizers to “move with the times.” Appearing on Good Morning Britain, she said, “I thought, actually, I did follow the rules, and I got a bit of a slap on the wrist. I have said sorry, which I am sorry, but I do believe - particularly the races - it is all about the fashion, it isn’t really about the racing. Fashions change, we need to have the Ascot rules reviewed yearly, as fashion looks change through the seasons. We need it updated.”
