Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) has identified Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) as his attacker after being found unconscious and bludgeoned on the Emmerdale depot floor. The assault left Billy with a brain bleed and fears of possible brain damage.
Joe's Revenge Motive
Joe had vowed revenge on Billy after Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) suggested Billy and Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) were involved behind his back. Joe initially dismissed the idea but changed his mind when Caleb Milligan (Will Ash) told him about a kiss – though it was only almost a kiss.
Joe's suspicion wasn't unfounded, as Dawn's feelings for Billy are clear. However, the severity of the attack raises questions about whether Billy deserved such a brutal response.
Billy's Accusation
After regaining consciousness, Billy was convinced by Caleb that Joe was responsible. When asked about his attacker, Billy firmly identified Joe, despite Dawn's skepticism. Caleb's sketchy behavior adds to the uncertainty, but Billy sticks to his story.
Dawn realizes she needs to leave, but she's pregnant with Joe's baby. Billy suggests they grab the kids and flee, and he tells DS Byrne it wasn't Joe, much to Caleb's annoyance, as part of a plan to make Joe complacent. Dawn agrees and says the perfect opportunity will be during Joe's stag do.
Unresolved Secrets
Someone knows something about the attack that they're not revealing yet. Will Joe discover Dawn's plans to leave and try to stop her?
