Delta Goodrem ruled out of Strictly week four due to injury

Delta Goodrem will not perform in week four of Strictly Come Dancing's 2026 series after being advised by doctors to rest due to an injury. The singer and actress was due to take to the ballroom floor on Saturday, October 17, but the news was announced on Monday, October 12.

Injury forces withdrawal from Saturday's show

Delta and her professional dance partner Kai Widdrington had topped the leaderboard for a second consecutive week after scoring 33 out of 40 from the judges for their salsa in week three. That performance took place on Saturday, October 10, following the series' first elimination during the annual Movie Week special.

The announcement was made on BBC Two spin-off It Takes Two, with a Strictly spokesperson confirming: "Due to injury, Delta Goodrem has been advised by doctors to rest and, as a result, will not dance on this weekend's Strictly Come Dancing."

Bye confirmed under show rules

In line with the rules of the show, Delta and Kai will receive a bye through to next week, when it is hoped they will be able to dance again. The spokesperson added: "We wish Delta the very best as she continues her recovery."

Delta also spoke about the setback, saying: "I'm absolutely gutted that a rib injury means I won't be able to dance on Strictly this week. I've been loving every second of this experience, so having to sit this one out is heartbreaking - especially after the high of Saturday night. I cannot tell you how much I love being a part of this magical show.

"I'm going to focus on resting and recovering, and hopefully I'll be back on that dancefloor very soon. Thank you so much to everyone for all the love and support. It's so appreciated. I'll be cheering everyone on from the sidelines this week! Sending all my love, Delta."
