Coronation Street villains James Cartwright and Beth Nixon 'dating'
Corrie villains James Cartwright and Beth Nixon 'dating'

Two Coronation Street stars are reportedly dating after both played villains in the ITV soap. James Cartwright played domestic abuser Theo Silverton on the cobbles, leading the soap to victory at the Inside Soap Awards with his storyline alongside Todd Grimshaw star Gareth Pierce and traumatising audiences until his murder at the hands of Sarah Platt. Beth Nixon, meanwhile, is best known for playing groomer Megan Walsh, who eyed up underage victim Will Driscoll while she was a teacher at his school.

Romance off-set

Now Beth and James have reportedly struck up a romance off-set, after both their characters were axed from the programme. A source told The Sun: “They’re keeping things low-key but they really like each other.”

The couple were snapped walking the red carpet together at the Cure Usher Ball earlier this year. They were also spotted sitting together at the event, before posing for photos with Emmerdale co-stars and wives Michelle Hardwick and Kate Brooks.

Weekend in Belfast

The pair reportedly enjoyed a romantic weekend together in Belfast, where they snapped selfies with fans.

It comes after the publication reported that Beth is set to make a return to Corrie after her character Megan was put behind bars. A source said: “Beth Nixon, who played paedo teacher Megan Walsh, is already back on the ITV set filming this week.

Return to the cobbles

“Megan might have been sent to jail back in June but her former pupil Will Driscoll will be shocked when she returns. “Beth has been filming this week and will be on screen later this year.”

She has reportedly been filming scenes with Will star Lucas Hodgson-Wale, Eva actress Catherine Tyldsley and Pauline McLynn, who plays Maggie.

Originally announcing her exit, Beth wrote on Instagram: “Megan, you’re a cow and I’ll miss you like a hole in the head. Thank you thank you thank you to every single person at Coronation Street, you’ve changed my life!”
