The four pairs taking part in the new series of Celebrity Race Across The World have been unveiled, with Katie Price's children Princess and Junior Andre joining Ella Eyre, Jeff Stelling and Sam Ryder for a journey from Malaysia to Australia.
The BBC show's new preview and official cast photograph introduce the teams as they set off from Kuching, in the Malaysian state of Sarawak in north-west Borneo. Their destination is Melbourne, Australia, with a demanding 7,500km journey ahead.
The teams and their routes
Princess and Junior, the children of Katie Price and Peter Andre, will compete together. Singer-songwriter Ella Eyre is teaming up with her childhood friend Nana, while veteran sports broadcaster Jeff Stelling will travel with his son Matt.
Singer Sam Ryder completes the line-up alongside his best friend and tour manager Kaz. The first-look footage offers a glimpse of the challenges awaiting the teams on their journey to Melbourne.
What the BBC promises for the new season
BBC One and BBC iPlayer confirmed the series is returning at 8pm on Wednesday, October 28. The BBC teased of the new season: "Setting off from the vibrant city of Kuching, in the Malaysian state of Sarawak in North West Borneo, and the gateway to the island's vast wilderness, these pairs will tackle the most formidable race yet."
"Traversing prehistoric jungles and the heartlands of Borneo, to reach five check points across three countries and two continents, ultimately aiming for the sunbaked southern tip of Australia and the finish line in Melbourne. Leaving luxury behind them, these household names will be tested; emotions will run high, and relationships will be transformed on an adventure as challenging as it is rewarding."
The teams will need to rely on their own resourcefulness, local transport, and the kindness of strangers to make it further into the race, equipped with only a map and a budget of just £26 per person a day.
Reactions and premiere details
In the trailer, singer Sam Ryder shows plenty of enthusiasm as he listens to the sounds of the jungle. "You hear that? That's the sound of adventure," he says. As the teams proceed into the unknown, Princess Andre observes: "We are literally in the middle of nowhere."
Ella Eyre seems to run into trouble as she observes: "This is definitely feeling like the long way round," while Jeff Stelling shares it is a "once in a lifetime" experience. Fans have taken to the trailer comments to express their excitement ahead of the new season, with one saying: "Nice to have somewhere they’ve never done before! Looking forward to it."
Tim Harcourt, Chief Creative Officer for Studio Lambert, said of the new series: "This year’s pairs navigate a journey that lays bare two extremes of today’s world. We can’t wait to share how they get on. Contestants give unfiltered and honest reactions to the experiences they face that are as demanding as they are joyful. That’s so rare on television and it’s clear audiences love seeing their favourite stars deal with these daring challenges in spectacular worlds."
Celebrity Race Across The World 2026 starts on Wednesday, October 28 on BBC One at 8pm.
