Tributes have been paid to an 18-year-old university student from Hull who died suddenly in her sleep. Poppy Johnson, a student at Bangor University, passed away peacefully on November 16, according to a funeral announcement.
Poppy, who was studying Primatology, had a deep passion for animals and volunteered at Bridlington Animal Park. The park described her as a 'beautiful soul' and a 'future force for good' in a heartfelt statement.
'It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share some incredibly sad news,' the park said. 'For the last two years, we have had the absolute pleasure and privilege of welcoming a wonderful young lady named Poppy into our team.'
The statement added that Poppy continued volunteering even after completing her required hours because she genuinely cared. 'She was hardworking, dedicated, knowledgeable, and wise beyond her years. She brought a calm and kind presence to every day.'
Poppy is survived by her parents Kay and Richard, and her brother Joseph. She was described as a 'loving daughter' and 'amazing and caring sister' in the funeral notice.
