Prince George is set to start at Eton College this September, Kensington Palace has confirmed. Although the young prince hasn’t personally commented on the upcoming school move, which will see him board at Eton, it is believed he is excited to follow in his father’s footsteps. However, it is safe to say that the environment of Eton may be slightly different to the school life George, 12, has been used to at Lambrook School. This is because the prestigious Windsor college has some bizarre rules and policies to follow.
Prince George Will Need to Pass the Colours Test
While Prince George may now be used to academic tests, it seems that Eton has some tests up its sleeves that George has never done before. As reported by Hello! Magazine, one of George's first trials at his new boarding school will be his "colours test". This test reportedly checks whether students can memorise the location of school buildings and the official colours of each of its 25 boarding houses. The reason why this test is needed is not known.
Prince George Will Need to Avoid a White Ticket
Prince William and Princess Catherine’s son will also have to follow school work rules to ensure he does not get a "white ticket". This "white ticket" reportedly happens if students hand in a bad piece of school work. This is because students receive a "rip" if this happens, which is named after the tradition of a master tearing the top of a page. If a student has too many rips, he will get a "white ticket". This means they will then have a progress report done.
Prince George Will Need to Arrive on Time
Prince George will also have to follow rules regarding being on time. This is because if you are not on time, students may need to face the punishment of the Tardy Book. This reportedly required pupils to get up early to sign their name in a book kept in the School Office. Other punishments for things such as arriving late reportedly include chores and Lines (copying out 100 hexameters of Latin poetry), as reported by Hello!.
