Students across England, Wales and Northern Ireland are receiving their A-Level, BTec and T-level results today, with access to the UCAS portal opening before schools and colleges open at 8am.
Record number of students seeking university places
A record number of pupils, around 41% of 18-year-olds, are set to find out if they have secured their top choice university. Most schools and colleges will open at 8am this morning for students to collect their physical result slips.
The UCAS portal, which shows university application statuses, will be accessible beforehand, allowing students to check their offers before picking up their results.
Pressure on schools and universities
Schools are facing pressure to produce strong results, following a record high in the proportion of students achieving top A-level grades in 2025.
Prime Minister Andy Burnham has placed renewed focus on technical education, with the government under pressure to reform student loan payments. This has put universities in the spotlight ahead of this year's results.
