Chaos erupted once again at London's Hyde Park Winter Wonderland as security guards were filmed not only clashing with visitors but also turning on each other. The shocking incident, which occurred on Boxing Day, is the latest in a series of violent outbursts that have plagued the popular festive attraction.
Footage Captures Guards Turning on Each Other
Video shared on social media shows the moment the situation spiralled out of control. Security personnel in hi-vis jackets were attempting to manage an altercation with a group of men on one of the park's adventure rides. In a surprising twist, one guard is seen pulling a colleague away from the fray, only for the two to then begin pushing and shoving each other.
The first guard aggressively shoves his coworker back into a corner in an attempt to remove him from the conflict. Undeterred, the second guard defies this by jumping over him to rejoin other security staff still dealing with the initial group. The clip was posted online with the caption, 'Just another day at Winter Wonderland.'
A Troubled History of Violence
This Boxing Day brawl follows a major disturbance on Christmas Eve that required police intervention, with officers drawing a Taser on at least one reveller. That earlier incident saw punches thrown, bins overturned, and women screaming as rival groups clashed.
Visitors witnessing the latest fracas have expressed their dismay and called for a major overhaul of security at the event. One onlooker stated, 'It feels something has gone badly wrong if even the security guards are having to hold each other back from the conflict.' Another vowed never to return, saying, 'If I want to pay to watch a fight, I'll put the boxing on the television. This is supposed to be a family event. It's a complete disgrace.'
Calls for Change and Event's Response
The event has faced mounting criticism this season, being labelled Europe's most complained-about festive attraction due to overcrowding, high prices, and repeated violence. Earlier in December, a separate fight saw a woman punched unconscious.
In a previous statement addressing safety concerns, Winter Wonderland management said, 'The safety of our visitors and staff is our priority and any acts of aggressive or threatening behaviour will not be tolerated.' The organisers were approached for comment regarding the Boxing Day incident.
With public trust eroding, the future of the event's security arrangements now faces serious questions as families question whether it remains a safe Christmas destination.
