Hashim Uddin Flaunts Freedom at Glasgow Gym Amid £100k Bounty

Hashim Uddin, the gangster convicted of killing Omer Sadiq, has been seen openly visiting a gym and shisha cafés in Glasgow despite a £100,000 bounty on his life. Uddin, 33, was jailed in 2021 for stabbing Sadiq, 32, to death after a dispute at a flat in Pollok, Glasgow. He was released earlier this year, and a bounty of £50,000 was initially offered for his scalp, later doubled after a confrontation with a member of Sadiq's former crew.

Underworld Sources Detail Uddin's Routine

A gangland source told the Daily Record that the mobster is making his presence known since his release. He reportedly spends most of his time at a local gym and a shisha café in the Gorbals area, with footsoldiers watching his back outside. An underworld informant claimed that Uddin is taking steroids, noting that photos show him visibly thicker since his jail release. The informant said: "Uddin has been splitting his time between the gym and sitting in Shisha Cafes. Uddin always has hoods watching over him from outside the gym while he works out. He has been taking a lot of steroids and the roids, alongside the pressure of his enemies, are getting to his head. Hashim also has insiders at the shisha lounge paying him and his comrade protection. He's been telling people there that he's back on road and ready to be active with no fear and no apologies."

Wedding Confrontation and Bounty Details

Uddin reportedly got into a shouting match with a female relative of Sadiq at his best friend's wedding, leaving the woman "upset." The Daily Record previously reported that Uddin asked the Lyons gang for help with the bounty, allegedly feeding them "information about Sadiq's crew and where they stash their drugs."

Background of the Killing

Uddin was jailed in 2021 at the High Court in Glasgow. The court heard that Sadiq went to Uddin's flat with his wife in September 2020 to settle a family dispute. There were claims that Uddin was planning to leave his wife, Iqraa Malik, following an affair; Sadiq was married to Iqraa's sister. The two men argued after a dispute over Sadiq bringing a dog into the house. Sadiq was stabbed twice with a hunting knife and later died in hospital. Prosecutors accepted Uddin's guilty plea to the lesser charge of culpable homicide, and he was sentenced to six years.
