Details of the Charges

Harshey-Jones, 45, of Rhos-on-Sea, Conwy, faces three counts: recording an image under clothing without consent, commonly known as 'upskirting', contrary to S.67A(1) and (4) of the Sexual Offences Act 2003; committing an act or series of acts with intent to pervert the course of public justice; and corrupt or improper exercise of police powers and privileges by a constable.

The alleged incident occurred on Thursday, June 11, in the Colwyn Bay area, involving two juvenile females. Harshey-Jones was arrested later that same day and immediately suspended from duty by North Wales Police.

A North Wales Police spokesperson stated: "He is charged with operating equipment beneath clothing without consent, perverting the course of justice, and corrupt or other improper exercise of police powers and privileges by a constable."

Background of the Officer

Harshey-Jones previously served as a lead investigator in the high-profile case of two-year-old Ethan Ives-Griffiths, whose grandparents were jailed for murder in 2025. The force has not commented on how these charges may affect past cases he handled.
