School summer holidays have begun, and families across Wales can take advantage of numerous free and discounted meal offers for children at restaurants, cafes, and pubs. From national chains to local spots, these deals help stretch the holiday budget. Additionally, a new government scheme has slashed VAT on children's meals from 20% to 5% at participating venues, including Nando's and attractions like ODEON, Techniquest, Rhondda Heritage Park, and Dan-yr-Ogof show caves.
Restaurants Offering Free Kids Meals
Yo! Sushi offers kids eat free all day during school holidays when dining with a full-paying adult (minimum £10 spend). Children can choose from kiddo bento boxes, while outside holidays a bento box and drink costs £7.50.
Burger King brings back its Kids Eat Free offer from July 23 to the end of August. A free King Jr. Meal is available with the purchase of any adult meal through the Burger King app, including the Whopper Jr. for the first time.
Bill's modern bistro feeds up to two children aged 10 and under free per adult main dish, all day until September 1 on weekdays only.
Franco Manca offers a complimentary kids' pizza for children 12 and under per full-priced adult main, Monday to Thursday outside school holidays and extended during holidays, subject to availability.
Frankie & Benny's allows kids to eat free with every adult main meal purchased during holidays. Their Small Eaters menu starts from £6.80, and Big Eaters menu from £8.30, including a main, two sides, a drink, and a dessert.
The Lounges run the Little Loungers Breakfast Club during holidays, where kids eat free with a table of juice, toast, cereals, and more. They also participate in the government's Great British Summer Savings scheme, reducing VAT on kids' meals to 5% until September 1, and have launched a Teenage Kicks menu for teens and tweens.
Nando's, part of the same government scheme, has reduced kids' meals by 12.5% on the Nandino set menu, which includes a main with two sides and a drink or dessert.
Zizzi offers a free Bambini meal with each adult main purchase through the Zillionaires' Club app, all day until September 6.
Las Iguanas provides kids eat free seven days a week, all year, via the Las Iguanas App, including a free kids' main, two sides, and dessert with every adult main.
Pub Deals
Brewers Fayre slashes VAT on kids' meals from 20% to 5% as part of the Great British Summer Savings scheme.
Slug & Lettuce offers kids meals for £1 when an adult purchases a main, running until September 1.
Supermarket and Shop Cafes
Morrisons Cafe provides a free Kellogg's Breakfast (cereal and fruit) for both kids and adults throughout the summer holidays, from June 29 to September 6, nationwide.
Asda offers kids meals for £1, including hot meal deals or cold pick and mix, with no adult minimum spend, year-round.
Dunelm's Pausa Cafes give free kids meals daily with every £4 spent in the cafe, choosing a kids main, drink, and two snacks.
Ikea serves kids pasta, tomato sauce, a soft drink, and fruit for 95p from 11am.
