Birmingham Nightclub Shooting: Man Fights for Life

A night out in Birmingham turned to terror in the early hours of Sunday morning as a shooting at a popular nightclub left one man fighting for his life and two others injured.

The violent incident erupted at The Crane nightclub on Adderley Street in the Digbeth area, a renowned entertainment spot, shortly after 1:30 AM. Emergency services rushed to the scene following multiple reports of gunfire.

Critical Condition and Multiple Injuries

West Midlands Police confirmed that a man, whose identity has not been released, sustained life-threatening injuries and remains in a critical condition in hospital. Two other men were also treated for injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

Detectives from the force's serious crime unit have launched a major investigation. The cordon around the nightclub remained in place for much of Sunday as forensic officers meticulously scoured the scene for evidence.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Officers are now urgently appealing to the public for information. They are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of Adderley Street or the nightclub itself around the time of the shooting.

"We are in the process of reviewing CCTV and carrying out other lines of enquiry," a spokesperson for West Midlands Police stated. "We believe there were a number of people in the area who may have witnessed what happened and we would urge them to come forward."

Anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, is asked to contact police via Live Chat on the West Midlands Police website or by calling 101, quoting log 552 of 22 September.
