A tragic road traffic collision in Aberdeenshire has claimed two lives and left four others requiring hospital treatment, including two young schoolboys.
Details of the Fatal Collision
The incident occurred on Saturday, December 6, on the A952 in Aberdeenshire. It involved a grey Land Rover Evoque and a black Vauxhall Corsa. Emergency services rushed to the scene, but the outcome was devastating.
A 24-year-old woman, who was driving the Vauxhall Corsa, was pronounced dead after being taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Her passenger, a 24-year-old man, was declared dead at the scene.
Injured Passengers Rushed to Hospital
Four other individuals caught up in the crash were taken to hospital for treatment and precautionary checks.
The occupants of the Land Rover Evoque, a 62-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman, were transported for medical care. Furthermore, two young boys, aged just five and seven, who were passengers in one of the vehicles, were also taken to hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The road was closed for a significant period to allow for a thorough investigation by Police Scotland's collision investigators.
Police Appeal for Dash-Cam Footage
Sergeant Pete Henderson of Police Scotland expressed the force's condolences, stating: 'Our thoughts are with the families of those who died and everyone affected by this incident.'
He confirmed that enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the fatal crash. Officers are now urgently appealing to the public for assistance.
'We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen what happened,' said Sergeant Henderson. 'We are also asking anyone driving in the area around the time of the crash to please check any dash-cam footage they have.' Any footage, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could prove vital to the investigation.
