Rush Hour Peril in Boston Tunnel
A dog sparked a major emergency response after it was seen trotting the wrong way through a busy Boston tunnel during the Thursday morning rush hour. The black and white pup narrowly avoided being struck by oncoming traffic in the Ted Williams Tunnel, creating a highly dangerous situation.
A Close Call Captured on Camera
Surveillance footage released by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation shows the dramatic scene. The dog can be seen heading directly towards fast-moving cars and lorries. With vehicles whizzing past, the animal moved from the centre of the travel lane to the relative safety of a side wall, narrowly escaping a collision.
State Police to the Rescue
In a later video, the coordinated rescue effort is visible. Six state police vehicles were deployed, parked in a staggered formation to protect the scene. A state trooper is seen attempting to coax the dog to safety. The initially hesitant pup eventually ran from the officer but then made a surprising and fortunate decision, hopping directly into the back seat of a police cruiser.
The incident occurred on Thursday morning, and a message was left with state police the following day, Friday 7th November 2025, seeking further information about the dog's condition and how it came to be in the tunnel.
