In a brazen early morning theft, a woman was captured on security cameras making off with a haul of premium seafood from outside one of London's most esteemed dining establishments.
The Stolen Seafood
The incident occurred at approximately 8am on Tuesday, 25 November, outside the Elystan Street restaurant in the affluent area of Chelsea. The stolen goods consisted of approximately £200 worth of fresh langoustines that had been delivered to the Michelin-starred venue.
According to reports, the establishment only became aware of the missing seafood delivery the following day, Wednesday, 26 November, prompting them to review their CCTV footage and contact authorities.
Police Investigation Underway
The Metropolitan Police have confirmed they are actively investigating the incident, which they have classified as a theft of produce from outside the premises. Officers are now appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the woman caught on camera.
A police spokesperson stated that anyone with information should contact them on 101, quoting the reference number CAD 1601 of 26 November.
Appeal for Witnesses
The restaurant has joined police in calling for potential witnesses to come forward. The theft represents not just a financial loss but a disruption to the kitchen's operations and its ability to serve premium dishes to its customers.
