Police have launched a major manhunt after two masked thieves carried out a brazen daylight robbery at a Buckinghamshire jewellery store, making off with thousands of pounds worth of valuables.
The audacious heist occurred at around 3:30pm on Wednesday, when the duo entered the store wearing dark clothing and face coverings. According to Thames Valley Police, the thieves smashed display cases before fleeing with a substantial haul of high-value items.
CCTV Images Released
Investigators have released clear CCTV images showing the suspects, described as two white men of average build. One was wearing a distinctive grey hooded jacket with black gloves, while the other sported a black jacket with white stripes on the sleeves.
Detective Constable Sarah Henderson, leading the investigation, stated: "This was a calculated robbery that has left the business owners devastated. We're urging anyone who recognises these individuals or saw anything suspicious to come forward immediately."
Appeal for Witnesses
Police are particularly interested in speaking to:
- Anyone who saw two men acting suspiciously in the area before or after the robbery
- Motorists with dashcam footage from the surrounding roads
- Local residents who may have noticed unusual activity
The stolen jewellery includes several distinctive pieces that may surface at pawn shops or online marketplaces. Authorities have alerted second-hand dealers across the region to be vigilant.
Business Owners Devastated
The targeted store, which has asked not to be named for security reasons, has been serving the community for over 15 years. "This wasn't just a financial blow - it's violated our sense of safety," one employee told reporters.
Local business owners have expressed shock at the boldness of the midday robbery, with several neighbouring shops increasing their security measures in response.
