A house fire in the Fife village of Cellardyke prompted a major emergency response on Wednesday evening, July 8, 2026. The blaze erupted shortly before 9pm on Venus Place, with three appliances from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service dispatched to the scene.
Fire Destroys Ground Floor, Spreads to Upper Levels
Shocking photos captured at the scene show fierce flames and thick, black smoke pouring from the property. The fire appears to have started on the ground floor, completely destroying the front door and living room windows. Flames then climbed to the second floor of the home, causing extensive damage.
Residents were forced to evacuate and were seen standing on the street watching the unfolding emergency. Alarmed locals gathered as fire engines arrived, with hoses deployed to bring the inferno under control. The road was taped off to allow firefighters to work safely.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that no casualties have been reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The spokesperson said: "We were called to a fire at a domestic property on Venus Place, Cellardyke at 8:45pm. The incident is ongoing. No casualties have been reported."
