Man Raped in UK Beauty Spot Car Park, Suspect Steals £50

Thames Valley Police are investigating after a man reported that he was raped in the car park of Padworth Common Nature Reserve, a beauty spot near Reading, on July 9. The suspect is alleged to have stolen £50 from the victim's pocket before fleeing the scene.

Details of the Incident

The alleged attack occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. on July 9 at Padworth Common Nature Reserve, located south-west of Reading. The victim, a man in his 20s, reported that he was assaulted by an unknown male who then took £50 from his pocket. The suspect is described as a man with a local accent who was wearing white shoes.

The victim is being supported by specially trained officers. Police have increased their presence in the area to provide reassurance and continue their enquiries.

Police Appeal for Information

Detective Inspector Beverley Pearse, the lead investigating officer, said: “Detectives are investigating this report thoroughly and extensively. Since the rape was reported to us, we have been carrying out a number of enquiries to establish exactly what happened and identify the offender.”

Pearse added: “As part of that ongoing investigation, we are now appealing to the public for information that may assist us. I would like to hear from anyone who may have seen this incident or part of the incident as it unfolded. We are particularly keen to hear from motorists with dash-cam footage recorded in the area around the time of the offence, as this may assist our investigation. Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a red vehicle in the area at the time of the incident.”
