Marco Pierre White Jr, the son of the renowned chef, has been handed his second prison sentence in a matter of weeks. This follows a guilty plea for assault, compounding the jail term he is already serving for a significant shoplifting and vandalism spree totalling an estimated £60,000.
A Consecutive Sentence for Violent Assault
The 30-year-old admitted to assaulting Manuel Constantino Teixeira De Leca in an incident that took place in Bath, Somerset, back in April. Bristol Magistrates' Court delivered a four-week prison sentence on November 11, which will run consecutively with his previous term. White was not present in court to receive this latest judgement.
In addition to the jail time, the court ordered him to pay £200 in compensation to his victim. This fresh conviction marks his 70th offence, with the defendant having been convicted a total of 32 times.
The £60,000 Shoplifting and Vandalism Spree
This new sentence comes just weeks after White was imprisoned on October 30 for a separate series of crimes. The Isleworth Crown Court heard details of his spree, which included vandalising a gallery and multiple thefts.
His crimes were varied and brazen. He broke into an Italian deli in Kensington, making off with a laptop, tablet, iPod, and a till tray. On another occasion, he stole two natural rock crystal formations from a store in Notting Hill.
Further offences saw him target a store in Barnes, South West London, on July 21, where he stole £1,500 worth of Jellycat soft toys. He also entered an ammonite store and stole two green fluorite crystal lamp towers. Perhaps the most destructive act was the wrecking of "four mounted crystals," which alone caused an astonishing £44,000 worth of damage.
A Troubled Past and Previous Convictions
The court was told that White has a "long-standing drug addiction" and was already serving two suspended sentences for the majority of his crime spree. His criminal behaviour continued with an incident on April 1, where an alarm was triggered at Clayton’s Kitchens in Bath. Broken glass and blood were found at the scene, though nothing was stolen. Police were later called to a charity shop, Mercy in Action, in the same city.
Born on May 24, 1995, to chef Marco Pierre White and Mati Conejero, White was raised in Chelsea, West London. He had a troubled upbringing before working as an artist and model. He gained public notoriety as a contestant on the 17th series of Celebrity Big Brother in 2016, where he was the first to be evicted and triggered hundreds Ofcom complaints.
Despite becoming a father in November 2019, his legal troubles have persisted. He was convicted of several offences between 2016 and 2022, resulting in a 79-week prison sentence. Past controversies include launching a sex toy brand, making insensitive comments about the Parsons Green bombing, and convictions for drink-driving and racial harassment.
