Sammy Root Reveals Shocking Truth About Jess Harding Split

Love Island 2023 winner Sammy Root has spoken out about his split from Jess Harding, revealing that he is focusing on himself rather than rushing into a new relationship. The couple won the ITV2 show over the summer but parted ways just weeks after leaving the villa.

In an exclusive interview with the Mirror, Sammy, 22, said: 'Obviously, it didn't work out the best between me and Jess but at the same time, right now, I'm just really focusing on myself. Trying to get the best outcome and enjoying life, and yeah, just working on Sammy really.' He added that it is 'still very soon' to think about dating again.

Despite the break-up, Sammy described his time on Love Island as 'the best experience of his life' and winning as a 'dream come true'. He said: 'I felt like I stood there for like an hour just staring at the wall, thinking: Oh my! I just couldn't believe it.' He also did not rule out appearing on another reality TV show in future.

Since leaving the villa, Sammy has been busy with charity work, supporting causes such as breast cancer awareness, Dogs Trust, and planning a fundraiser for Mind. He said: 'Getting the big platform that I've got now, I thought straightaway this is something I could definitely put to charity work.'
