A 22-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy have been charged following a violent disturbance in Hulme, Manchester, which left two men seriously injured. The incident occurred at traffic lights on Saturday afternoon, prompting a large police response.
Details of the Incident
Emergency services were called to Jackson Crescent in Hulme at around 2:30 pm on Saturday, July 11, 2026, after reports of an altercation involving a group of people with bladed articles, according to Greater Manchester Police (GMP). A large police cordon was established at the nearby crossroads of Stretford Road and Chorlton Road as investigations began. Dashcam footage from the scene appeared to show a car being damaged during the attack, which took place at traffic lights. Two men were taken to hospital with injuries, police confirmed.
Charges Filed
Triston Aculey-Rodgers, 22, of Tavery Close, Manchester, has been charged with affray, possession of a bladed article, possession of cannabis, driving while disqualified, and criminal damage. A 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons due to his age, has been charged with affray, assault, possession of a bladed article, and possession of cannabis. He was also wanted on recall to prison. Both individuals were due to appear before Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

In a statement, GMP said: "Triston Aculey-Rodgers, 22, of Tavery Close, Manchester, has been charged with affray, possession of a bladed article, possession of cannabis, driving while disqualified and criminal damage while he was in custody. A 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named, has been charged with affray, assault, possession of a bladed article and possession of cannabis. He was also wanted on recall to prison. Both men will appear before Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court today (Wednesday 15 July 2026). These charges relate to an incident on Jackson Crescent, in Hulme on Saturday 11 July 2026, following reports of an altercation between a group of people involving bladed articles."
