Jenner Seeks $439k from Late Friend Hutchins's Estate

Caitlyn Jenner Pursues $439,095.88 from Estate of Late Friend Sophia Hutchins

Caitlyn Jenner is seeking to recover nearly half a million dollars owed to her by her late friend and former manager, Sophia Hutchins. The 76-year-old Olympic gold medalist filed a creditor's claim with Hutchins's estate on September 19 of last year, according to documents obtained by the Daily Mail.

Jenner asserts she is owed $439,095.88 from the estate of Hutchins, who tragically died in an ATV crash on July 2, 2025. The claim details that Hutchins accumulated significant debt on Jenner's credit and debit cards, for which she had authorization. However, Hutchins was expected to repay Jenner for personal expenses but passed away with substantial unpaid balances.

Breakdown of the Debt and Legal Costs

Jenner's claim form specifies that Hutchins requested cash advances totaling $7,150 between February 22 and June 17 of last year, with repayment due at an unspecified future date. Additionally, multiple personal purchases were made on Jenner's cards from November 24, 2024, to July 2, 2025—the day of Hutchins's death—that remained unpaid.

The principal amounts include $273,453.49 spent on Jenner's credit card and $15,913.55 on her debit card. Jenner has also requested that Hutchins's estate cover accrued interest from the credit card charges, amounting to $9,890.65.

In her supporting facts, Jenner notes that she and Hutchins hired attorneys to represent them in a lawsuit, agreeing to split legal costs evenly. Jenner covered the attorney fees upfront with the understanding that Hutchins would reimburse her. While Hutchins had repaid $75,000, she still owed $133,509.58 at the time of her death.

Detailed Vendor Expenses and Estate Response

Jenner provided a detailed breakdown of Hutchins's alleged debts, including $242,491.20 to 1stdibs.com, a site selling vintage and contemporary items. Other significant vendors included Tomlin Antiques at $19,500, Restoration Hardware at $16,163.65, eBay at $6,905.04, Fast Growing Trees at $3,106.44, and Shopify at $379.32.

Around four months after Jenner filed her claim, Hutchins's estate filed an approval to pay the full requested amount on March 30, according to documents obtained by the Daily Mail.

Background on Sophia Hutchins's Tragic Death

Hutchins, who repeatedly denied being in a romantic relationship with Jenner despite living together and being inseparable, died at age 29 on July 2, 2025. Her ATV plunged 350 feet into a ravine after an accident near Jenner's Malibu home.

Police later indicated that speed was likely a factor in the crash. Sgt. Eduardo Saucedo of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated that Hutchins may have been speeding and rear-ended another car, causing her to veer off a cliff. No one else was injured, and emergency responders declared Hutchins dead at the scene.

In a statement to the Daily Mail at the time, Jenner expressed she was going through tough times and did not want to talk when spotted at a Starbucks. The Daily Mail has reached out to attorneys for Jenner and Hutchins's estate for further comment.
