A 51-year-old man has been left fighting for his life after a horrific attack in a local park, which also resulted in the death of his XL Bully dog. Authorities are treating the incident as attempted murder, with a full-scale investigation underway.
The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was reportedly set upon by multiple assailants in what witnesses described as a "brutal and unprovoked" assault. Emergency services rushed him to hospital with severe injuries, while his beloved pet was fatally wounded during the altercation.
Police Launch Manhunt
Detectives have cordoned off the area as forensic teams scour the scene for evidence. A spokesperson for the police confirmed they are pursuing several lines of enquiry, including reviewing CCTV footage from nearby premises.
"This was a shocking and violent attack that has left a man critically injured and a family pet dead," the spokesperson said. "We are appealing to anyone with information to come forward immediately."
