A woman has tragically died after being found unresponsive at the Resorts World entertainment complex in Solihull. Emergency services rushed to the scene on Pendigo Way yesterday afternoon, but were unable to save her.
Emergency Response at the Scene
West Midlands Ambulance Service received a call at 1:31 pm on Saturday, December 28, 2025. They dispatched a significant number of resources to the address near Pendigo Way.
A spokeswoman for the service confirmed: "Three ambulances and a paramedic officer were sent. On arrival crews found a woman. Sadly, it quickly became apparent nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead at the scene."
Police Investigation and Statement
West Midlands Police were alerted shortly afterwards, arriving at around 1:35 pm. Officers pronounced the woman dead at the location.
In a statement, the force provided crucial details: "We were called to Pendigo Way, Solihull, at around 1.35pm yesterday (28 Dec) to reports that a person had been found unresponsive. Sadly, a woman was pronounced dead at the scene."
The police have made a key determination regarding the circumstances, stating: "We are not treating her death as suspicious." A file is now being prepared for HM Coroner.
Witness Account from the Genting Hotel
The incident caused a noticeable emergency service presence at the large complex, which includes a casino, cinema, and the Genting Hotel. An unnamed guest staying at the hotel on the third floor witnessed the aftermath.
She told BirminghamLive: "Yesterday on December 28, 2025 at Resorts World in Birmingham at their hotel, I was staying there on the 3rd floor, there were a lot of police and ambulances."
The authorities have extended their sympathies, with West Midlands Police adding: "Our thoughts remain with her loved ones and everyone who knew her."
