Wisconsin Teacher Faces Multiple Child Sex Charges After Confessing to Student Relationships

A 22-year-old special education teacher from Wisconsin has been charged with multiple serious child sex crimes after allegedly admitting to sexual relationships with two 16-year-old students earlier this year. Nadia Horn, who taught at Eau Claire North High School, confessed to authorities that she engaged in sexual activity with both minor students, including occasions when both boys were present in the same room at her apartment.

Disturbing Details Emerge from Criminal Complaint

According to a criminal complaint obtained by WEAU News, Horn told police during her interview that she didn't believe she was taking advantage of her victims, claiming "it just felt mutual" while simultaneously admitting she "made a mistake." Because Wisconsin's age of consent is 18, Horn now faces multiple felony charges including:

  • Second-degree sexual assault of a child under 16
  • Two counts of child enticement
  • Two counts of sexual assault by someone who works or volunteers with children

The disgraced teacher posted a $15,000 cash bond and was released within hours of her arrest, but faces up to 40 years in prison and a $100,000 fine if convicted on all charges.

Pattern of Inappropriate Behavior Uncovered

Court documents reveal that school administration first notified Detective Craig Richter on March 20 about Horn's alleged inappropriate contact with students. The investigation began after reports surfaced that Horn had been buying one student a phone and providing rides outside of school hours.

Five days later, Detective Richter was assigned to North High School as a School Resource Officer after the first victim officially reported sexual misconduct. The abuse reportedly began in January when Horn started giving rides to a boy who had been skipping school, eventually resulting in him being transferred into her class.

Digital Evidence and Explicit Communications

That same month, Horn allegedly bought her student an iPhone 14 after he told her he couldn't use Snapchat due to having no service. This sparked inappropriate back-and-forth messages through the app, with police reporting that the victim described the conversations as "odd and weird."

The interactions escalated to Horn sending "really revealing" photos, though the victim denied they were nudes. During her police interview, Horn admitted that the Snapchats "potentially" included nude images exposing her breasts or vagina.

The boy told authorities that Horn consistently messaged him during school, expressing that she couldn't wait to see him and that his presence made her body feel a "certain way."

Multiple Sexual Encounters Detailed

On January 14, Horn allegedly took her first victim to her apartment, where she moved closer while they watched television and eventually laid on him, leaving him feeling "trapped." The victim explained that they ultimately did "everything sexual you can do with a person," which he said occurred nearly every time he visited her apartment.

Two videos recorded inside Horn's apartment provided additional evidence, including one allegedly showing the victim lying under the covers in her bed. In March, Horn sent a late-night Snapchat to the boy, asking him to come over and urging him to skip school to return to her apartment the next morning.

Second Victim and Additional Revelations

During her police interview, Horn allegedly confessed to having sex with the first victim "three times," each encounter occurring in her personal bedroom. She told authorities that her last contact with Victim 1 was earlier that morning, when she sent him a selfie in her bed with a caption reading, "there's room for you here."

Horn also admitted that Victim 2 had been to her apartment and that she brought both boys to her home to "hang out," with a third student present. She told investigators she had sex with Victim 2 at her apartment twice on separate dates, claiming he "really wanted it" after she began touching him.

The first time Horn had sex with the second boy, the first victim was reportedly present in the home. She said that Victim 1 left the room after she touched his genitals, at which point she began having intercourse with Victim 2.

Alcohol Provision and Surveillance Evidence

While denying ever selling drugs to the students, Horn admitted to providing wine at her apartment, saying she only did so because they asked for it. Surveillance footage reviewed by authorities allegedly showed that just before midnight earlier this month, a woman entered her apartment followed closely by three teenage boys.

Detectives wrote that the next morning, she and all three boys were seen leaving the apartment together.

School District Response and Legal Proceedings

Following her arrest, the Eau Claire Area School District sent a letter to families stating that Horn had been suspended without pay pending the outcome of her legal case. The 22-year-old teacher, who also co-taught World Studies, is expected back in court on May 20 for a hearing.

The case has sent shockwaves through the local community and raised serious questions about student safety protocols within the school district. Authorities continue to investigate whether there may be additional victims beyond the two boys already identified in the criminal complaint.
