Wife Admits Sending Chilling 'Acid Face' Text Message Before Ex-Husband's Fatal Attack

A woman accused of plotting to murder her ex-husband in a brutal doorstep acid attack has confessed in court to sending him a disturbing text message stating, 'I hope you end up with acid on your face'. Paris Wilson, aged 35, told jurors at Winchester Crown Court that she messaged Danny Cahalane, 38, with the words 'drop dead' approximately one month before the lethal assault occurred.

Denial of Murder Amidst Organised Crime Allegations

Wilson, who has pleaded not guilty to murder, insisted during her testimony that she was merely being 'nasty' and was 'just relaying' threats originally directed at Mr Cahalane from a drugs kingpin with whom he was involved. Prosecutors have alleged that Wilson actively assisted in plotting the murder of the fitness instructor following the breakdown of their marriage, claiming she provided sensitive information to the drug lord regarding a £120,000 debt owed by Mr Cahalane.

The father of two was tragically doused in acid inside his own home in Plymouth, Devon, last year. He succumbed to his severe injuries in hospital ten days after the vicious attack. Wilson, who shares a child with Mr Cahalane, is additionally accused of orchestrating an ambush against him the month prior to the fatal incident. The court previously heard that she allegedly helped set up this ambush in exchange for approximately £2,000.

Emotional Courtroom Testimony and Financial Denials

However, Wilson vehemently denied ever receiving money from the drug lord known as Frost, whose real name is Ryan Kennedy. During an emotional moment in court, she tearfully expressed her anger at the suggestion that she would endanger her child. 'There's no way that I'm going to put that little girl at risk, not a chance,' she stated. 'It just makes me angry.'

In January 2025, Frost informed Wilson that Mr Cahalane had stolen from him, prompting her to send the inflammatory messages to her ex-husband. She wrote, 'Don't message me, drop dead' and added the chilling line about acid. Explaining these communications, Wilson said, 'I was being nasty to him, but I know that it feels almost impossible to consider that me saying it was a coincidence, and it wasn't a coincidence. I had heard that as a threat; I've heard Frost threaten Dan with melting him. I had heard that threat back from Dan to Frost. I was just relaying what I have heard.'

Sour Messages and Spiritual References in Turbulent Relationship

The court was presented with details of the acrimonious exchanges between Wilson and Mr Cahalane. Jennifer Knight KC, defending Wilson, revealed that Wilson—who describes herself as 'spiritual'—texted Mr Cahalane accusing him of engaging in activities with 'low frequency energy', such as lying and selfishness. While crying on the stand, Wilson reflected on their relationship, saying, 'We did have quite a turbulent relationship when we were together and after, but he was so capable. He was a crappy person, but he also wasn't. I just, I wanted him to be the person I knew he could be, not the person he was being.' She admitted to 'just being mean' when she remarked that she did not care if he became a 'slaphead'.
