Two men are in custody following a fatal stabbing in Wolverhampton that claimed the life of a 30-year-old man on Christmas Day.

Christmas Day Tragedy on Burcot Avenue

West Midlands Police were called to Burcot Avenue in Wolverhampton at approximately 3:30am on Thursday, 25 December 2025. Officers discovered a man with serious stab wounds. Despite the efforts of emergency services, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Swift Police Action Leads to Arrests

In a rapid development, detectives arrested two local men on suspicion of murder. The suspects, aged 35 and 58, are currently being questioned by officers as part of the ongoing murder investigation. A police scene remains in place on Burcot Avenue while forensic experts conduct a detailed examination.

Appeal for Information from the Public

Detective Chief Superintendent Ed Foster is leading the inquiry. He stated that the force is in the early stages of its investigation and is pursuing urgent enquiries.

"We are carrying out quick-time enquiries including forensic examination, reviewing CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses," said DCS Foster. "We ask anyone who may have any information about what happened to contact us."
