Police in West Yorkshire have made three arrests following an alleged sexual assault on two teenage girls at a busy shopping centre in Leeds.

Police Respond to 'Suspicious Behaviour' Report

West Yorkshire Police were called to the Seacroft Green shopping centre at approximately 8.45pm on Tuesday 30 December. The call concerned reports of "ongoing suspicious behaviour involving men nearby".

Upon arrival, officers located two men and the two teenage girls. The men, aged 38 and 44, were immediately arrested on suspicion of sexual assault. Both were held in custody throughout New Year's Eve.

Third Suspect Detained Following Investigation

The investigation continued into Wednesday 31 December, leading to the arrest of a third suspect. A 20-year-old man was also detained on suspicion of sexual assault and remains in police custody.

Leeds District Safeguarding officers have taken charge of the case, working to establish the full circumstances of the alleged incident. A key part of their role is to provide continued support to the two teenage girls involved.
