There is significant disruption on London trains this afternoon after police closed Streatham Common station following reports of a knife fight.
Station Closure and Service Impact
The closure has caused major issues for Thameslink and Southern services. Streatham Common was shut to the public from around 11:30am, with passengers urged to find alternative routes. Several services calling at the Zone 3 stop were cancelled.
Police Response
British Transport Police said its officers were called to a fight involving a knife at Streatham Common station at 11:25am. Two people were rushed to hospital. A spokeswoman said a man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm and possession of a bladed article and remains in police custody.

Southern Rail Issues Warning
Trains running via Streatham Common could be cancelled or face lengthy delays this afternoon, Southern has warned. Passengers are encouraged to rearrange travel, where possible. Ticket acceptance and rail replacement buses remain in place, however limited services are able to operate and these may be at capacity.
Thameslink Brought to Standstill
Thameslink services between Blackfriars and East Croydon are at a standstill amid the ongoing emergency services incident at Streatham Common. The closure and planned engineering works mean no suitable rail route between the two points is available to use. Anyone who is currently on-board a train that's stuck at a station should await further updates from crew. In Surrey, tickets are currently being accepted on Metrobus Route 100 between Redhill, Earlswood, Salfords and Horley.
Streatham Common Reopens but Major Disruption Continues
Train operators at Streatham Common say the station has reopened but there are still significant issues. National Rail says a number of incidents across the network have led to disruption which is now expected to last until around 3pm. Gatwick Express, Southern and Thameslink services will continue to be delayed or cancelled. The latter has been significantly impacted by the incident at Streatham Common, as well as an earlier casualty on the tracks between Bedford and Luton.
