Police Hunt Second Suspect in Great Yarmouth Rape Case

Police are searching for a second suspect in connection with the alleged rape of two teenage girls in a seaside town. Norfolk Police responded to reports of the incident on South Beach Parade in Great Yarmouth at 12.37am on Saturday.

A man in his 30s was arrested the following day in Northamptonshire on suspicion of rape. He was taken to King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre for questioning and has since been released on bail.

A Norfolk Police spokesperson stated: "Officers searching for a second suspect have identified a man they would like to speak to as part of their investigations and present lines of inquiry indicate this suspect is outside of the county and inquiries to locate him continue."

Police have not released the nationality of either suspect, stating it "does not serve a clear operational purpose."

Chief Inspector Nick Paling, district commander for Great Yarmouth, said: "We recognise how shocking and distressing these incidents are for the victims, their families, and the wider community. Specialist officers have been deployed to support both girls as we work through this investigation."

He added: "There will be an increased police presence in the area, with officers carrying out reassurance patrols. Please do approach them if you have any concerns or information."

Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant information to report online, call police on 101, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously quoting crime reference 36/34665/26.
