New leaks suggest the upcoming iPhone 8 will be larger than the iPhone 7 but smaller than the iPhone 7 Plus, with a bigger screen due to the removal of the Home Button. According to reports, the iPhone 8 measures 143.59 x 70.94 x 7.57 mm, compared to the iPhone 7 at 138.3 x 67.1 x 7.1 mm and the iPhone 7 Plus at 158.2 x 77.9 x 7.3 mm.
The leaks, obtained by Benjamin Geskin for iDrop from factory workers, indicate the iPhone 8 will feature an edge-to-edge display and a dual camera system on the back, with one camera above the other and a flash between them. The front is expected to be almost entirely screen, with only a small lip for the camera and sensors.
The new device is also rumoured to include a Touch ID fingerprint scanner embedded in the display, and a round ring on the back that may house the Apple logo. Dual speakers and a Lightning port are expected at the bottom edge.
These leaks follow previous CAD drawings and a video showing a dummy model, supporting expectations of a bezel-less design. The iPhone 8 is anticipated to launch in September, with additional features such as augmented reality and an OLED screen.
