Baby and Man Die in Sydney L-Plater Crash

A 15-month-old baby and a man have tragically died following a multi-vehicle collision in Sydney's west involving an L-plater driver. Emergency services were dispatched to the intersection of Mamre and Abbotts Road in Kemps Creek at approximately 10:40 pm on Monday evening.

Details of the Incident

Upon arrival, officers discovered a small sedan and a van that had collided head-on. The male passenger in the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene. A 25-year-old woman and her 15-month-old son, who were seated in the back of the sedan, sustained critical injuries and were rushed to hospital. Sadly, the infant succumbed to his injuries several hours after arrival.

The 21-year-old L-plater, who was driving the sedan, was taken to Liverpool Hospital for assessment and mandatory testing. The van driver, a 45-year-old man, escaped with minor injuries and also underwent testing at the same hospital. Police were informed that the sedan had initially collided with a ute before the head-on crash with the van. The male driver of the ute was unharmed.
