Police hunt knife-wielding robber after Southampton shop raid

Hampshire Constabulary has launched a public appeal for information following a terrifying armed robbery at a convenience store in Southampton. The incident, which saw a suspect threaten staff with a large knife, took place in broad daylight.

The robbery occurred at the Day-Today convenience store on Portsmouth Road, Woolston, at approximately 3:45 pm on Thursday, 25 January. Police were swiftly called to the scene after a man entered the shop, brandished the weapon, and demanded money from the till.

After obtaining a quantity of cash, the suspect fled the scene on foot. Thankfully, no one was physically injured during the ordeal, though staff were left understandably shaken.
