A major police manhunt is underway at Heathrow Airport after a group of men allegedly used pepper spray on several people during a violent altercation.
Chaos in the Car Park
The incident occurred at approximately 8:11am on Sunday, 7 December 2025, within the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3. Emergency services rushed to the scene following reports that multiple individuals had been assaulted with an irritant spray.
According to the Metropolitan Police, the attack followed an "escalated argument" between a group of people who are believed to have known each other. After deploying the spray, the attackers fled the location, leaving several victims requiring urgent medical attention.
Police Response and Arrest
One man has been arrested on suspicion of assault in connection with the disturbance and remains in police custody for questioning. However, officers are actively searching for other suspects involved in the confrontation.
Commander Peter Stevens addressed the situation, stating the force's current assessment. "At this stage, we believe the incident involved a group of people known to each other, with an argument escalating and resulting in a number of people being injured," he said.
He was also keen to reassure the public, adding a crucial detail: "We are not treating this incident as terrorism."
Ongoing Investigation and Airport Security
The Metropolitan Police have launched a public appeal for witnesses to come forward with any information that could aid their investigation. Travellers and staff at Heathrow can expect a heightened security presence throughout the day as the search continues.
Commander Stevens confirmed there would be an increased police presence at Heathrow Airport throughout the morning following the alarming event. Several of those affected by the pepper spray were taken to hospital for treatment, though the exact number and severity of injuries have not been disclosed.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to track down the outstanding suspects and piece together the full sequence of events that led to the violent outburst at one of the world's busiest airports.
