Fake Gun Threat Over Garlic Sauce Lands Man in Prison
An 18-year-old man has been handed a three-year prison sentence after threatening a chicken shop worker with a realistic imitation firearm during a heated confrontation over a missing garlic sauce order in south London. The incident, which occurred on Christmas Eve, saw Marwan Khadir return to the takeaway to confront an employee before brandishing the fake weapon and making explicit death threats.
Violent Confrontation on Christmas Eve
The court heard that Khadir became embroiled in a dispute with the chicken shop worker after his order allegedly arrived without the requested garlic sauce. In a fit of rage, he left the premises only to return shortly afterwards armed with what appeared to be a genuine firearm. CCTV footage captured the moment Khadir pulled out the imitation gun and threatened to kill the terrified employee, who was also physically assaulted during the altercation.
Police were able to identify Khadir through comprehensive CCTV evidence from the establishment and surrounding areas. He was arrested several days following the Christmas Eve incident and subsequently charged with multiple offences relating to the fake firearm threat and assault.
